Ashleigh’s dream white silk and lace bespoke gown
When I first met Ashleigh I was totally smitten by her energy, her fun and thoughtful personality and the biggest smile I’d ever seen! Here’s the story of her wedding to her handsome fiancé Chris, on a sunny Spring day…
This creative bride used to be a wedding planner, so as you can imagine, she knew exactly what she wanted, and was able to put together exactly the day she dreamed of. With friends in most areas of the wedding industry, she began bringing them all together, including her good friend Liz (Flowers by Liz on facebook).
Chris and the boys looked stylish in grey suits and pale pink rose corsages.
Meanwhile, getting ready at the stunning home of her maid of honour, you can see the fun and excitement amongst these gorgeous ladies, and only imagine how much fun they had had on …”the best hen do weekend away!”…ever
Every careful detail of the day was beautifully captured by wedding photographer Nicci from Adorlee, including these lovely moments between such a close family and friends.
The wedding was held at Oaks Farm, a stunning venue with beautiful grounds and just the relaxed setting Ashleigh wanted for her fun filled day with Chris.
The day was filled with emotion – tears of laughter as well as the joy of the close friends and family who enjoyed every moment of the day. Ashleigh really wanted everyone …”to have a lovely day with plenty of good food and wine. I wasn’t one of these brides who fussed about the details….and had full trust in the venue to make my day perfect…”
Ashleigh said “…one special moment about hour day was when Chris and I went into the cottage after the ceremony and photos just to have an OMG WE DID IT moment!…”
And then on to the reception, where Ashleigh’s maid of honour gave the “best speech ever” including audience participation!
Another special moment was the lovely surprise Ashleigh’s new husband did for her in getting a singing waiter, who got the whole room up on tables and chairs, singing their hearts out!
Ashleigh looked around the room, seeing her guests having such a great time, and then looked at her husband, thinking “he knows me so well” as this is exactly what she wanted – for everyone to have a great wedding and one to remember!
Ashleigh’s friend Melissa made the beautiful cake, even though she doesn’t run a business…she just makes amazing cakes! And another friend of Ashleigh’s – Carla, made the lovely figurines.
The Dress
“…probably one of my favourite moments of organising my wedding was finding Caroline. Not only did she make stunning dresses, but she made me feel so relaxed, was so welcoming and was honest about what would suit me when I asked her opinion. Each time I went to see Caroline for a fitting, I came away with a spring in my step. The day I tried my dress on all complete was the best day – it was just PERFECT. And the day I picked it up, I was walking on air, and sad at the same time that I would no longer be popping back and seeing Caroline…” Thank you, Ashleigh, for that gorgeous message -I had a blast!
Ashleigh’s dress was created from our “Couture Kit” collection, which allows you to design your own bespoke wedding dress and choose your own fabric. Ashleigh chose a gorgeous white silk with a corded lace overlayer, and stunning beaded and crystal trim. The first step was to draw up a sketch so I could explain my understanding of Ashleigh’s vision…
This was then translated into a real gown, made to measure to fit Ashleigh perfectly, with a fastening of silk and organza rouleau loops and covered buttons, with an internal corset and silk lining. If you would like to try designing your own wedding dress, why not try our simple web app:
This gorgeous wedding was a pleasure to be part of and I LOVED every minute of meeting and working with Ashleigh. As she wisely said “…My saying was DO’NT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFf. Today I’m marrying the best man ever ad nothing else matters. And lets face it, it’s just one big party!” Every moment of the wedding just looked to be filled with fun, with one of the best parties ever! Wishing this lovely couple a wonderful lifetime, much love, Caro xx
Venue: Oaks Farm – Ashleigh said she could not fault them one bit – “…they were fantastic! Along with their recommended caterers, everyone commented on how nice the food was and there was plenty of it. The staff on the day were staff I had previously worked with before when I was in that industry, including the head chef, so that was lovely…”
