Francesca’s dream wedding gown in ivory satin & lace

FRANCESCA’S DREAM WEDDING GOWN IN IVORY SATIN & LACE

Francesca’s wedding was in May this year at St Lawrence Church in Effingham, Surrey. She designed her own gown and chose a beautiful ivory duchess satin with exquisite ivory lace detail on the bodice and at the hem

The bride contacted us initially through our Couture Kit app, to show us her ideas and find out about how it would work to have her gown made specially for her.

At her consultation, here in Surrey, Francesca tried on some samples of the “Perugia” bodice and “Lucia” skirt components from our collection, and we chatted further and looked at different fabric options, and she left with some satin and lace swatches and a sketch of her gown.

We measured Francesca using a “toile” prototype of her bodice design, adapted for her proportions, and to ensure the fit would be perfect. Following this, we adapted her dress pattern and made the gown in her choice of fabrics.

At her fitting, we discussed exact details for the lace edging, satin ribbon, and ensured the fit and length were perfect, and all worked together with underwear and shoes.

Fittings were so much fun! Francesca wrote us the most lovely review after the wedding… thank you for these lovely words and for sending your beautiful pics x

“..Going to see Caroline was the best decision about my dress. The whole experience of working with her to design something and then see it take shape was wonderful and made the dress feel even more special. I didn’t end up paying any more . Going to see Caroline was the best decision about my dress. The whole experience of working with her to design something and then see it take shape was wonderful and made the dress feel even more special. I didn’t end up paying any more than I would have done buying off the rail despite definitely getting a better fit. Highly recommended!..”
